SCOR promotes underwriting chief to oversee all Canadian operations

SCOR has named a new chief executive officer (CEO) for  SCOR Canada Reinsurance Company.

Olivier Gay will take up his post on June 11, 2021, in addition to his existing role as chief underwriting officer (CUO) for SCOR Canada. He assumes responsibility for overseeing all facets of the Canadian operations.

Gay joined SCOR in 2010. Before relocating to Canada to serve as CUO he was deputy chief financial officer for the SCOR Asia-Pacific region, based in Singapore, before which he was head of capital management and financial analysis and chief accounting officer at SCOR global P&C in Paris.

Gay succeeds Paul Christoff in the role and reports to John Jenkins, CEO of reinsurance operations for the Americas.

Jenkins said: “With more than a decade of experience at SCOR across three continents, Olivier brings a wealth of experience to this expanded role. His success and leadership since joining the team in Canada will further enhance SCOR’s position as a key player in the Canadian market.”
