Sedgwick overhauls Scandinavian operations in growth push

Technology-driven risk solutions provider Sedgwick is to combine its Norwegian and Swedish operations to create a new regional hub in Scandinavia, a move it hopes will help expand services and capture growth opportunities in the region.

Dan Sivertsen, Sedgwick CEO for Norway, has been appointed to lead the newly formed Scandinavian operation, taking on the role of regional director and CEO for Sweden. Meanwhile, Anders Dahlstrom, CEO for Sedgwick in Sweden, will continue to work with the business on a part-time consultancy basis and provide management support.

Additionally, Julia Holm has been promoted to country manager for Sweden, while Claes Frick will take on a newly expanded role as strategic development director for the Nordic region, and Robert Lundström will become legal and compliance director for the region.

Sedgwick said it aims to meet the specific needs of the developing Scandinavian market, while aligning with the local and global footprints.

With the new structure, Scandinavian and international clients will have one central point of contact for the region. For clients in Scandinavia who already work across the region, Sedgwick’s service offerings will now mirror their business model, enabling access to a single third-party administration (TPA) agreement, rather than one for each country.

Sedgwick’s two large motor teams in Norway, with expertise centered on international motor claims and commercial motor, will operate across the region. Additionally, its major and complex loss and specialist liability claims experts will be pooled across the region.

“The creation of our new regional hub in Scandinavia is a necessary and logical step toward our growth development in the area,” said Stewart Steel, Sedgwick CEO for continental Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA). “Our team’s extensive knowledge of the business and the region will ensure our clients continue to benefit from expanded solutions, exceptional technical experience and local expertise for many years to come.”

Steel added: “I look forward to working with Dan in his new role and to continuing to work with Anders, who I thank greatly for his excellent leadership of the Swedish business over the years. I also congratulate Julia, Claes and Robert on their new positions, in which I know they will thrive.”

Sivertsen added: “I am excited about the opportunities these changes in our operations in Norway and Sweden will afford our clients. I look forward to working with our dynamic team and to continue supporting Sedgwick’s focus on building our reach and capabilities for the future.”
