Shepherd Compello of Lloyd’s hires delegated authority head from Chubb

Lloyd’s insurance broker and coverholder Shepherd Compello has appointed Steve Hart as divisional director responsible for delegated authority business, as the company looks to grow in its specialist markets.

Hart joins the company from Chubb Global Markets, where he served as a delegated authorities contractor. Prior to that, he has undertaken underwriting roles at Markel, Omega Underwriting, Ark Underwriting and Newline. He has underwritten and placed international risks from across the USA, Canada and the UK.

In his new position at Shepherd Compello, Hart will focus on high value homeowners, commercial property and commercial general liability.

John Shepherd, chief executive officer of Shepherd Compello, commented: "I am delighted that Steve is joining the team. His energy and delegated authority experience aligns with the existing skills within the firm.

"We will continue to seek out the best talent in the market to ensure that we drive forward into new markets seizing the opportunities available in new and existing territories."

Hart added: "I am excited to be joining Shepherd Compello. There are huge opportunities for continued growth in the business and I am looking forward to playing my part. There are many firms who actively seek our niche, independent service, rather than simply accepting a one size fits all offering."
