SiriusPoint picks former Asia Capital Re/Catlin exec for London/Lloyd’s role
Specialist re/insurer SiriusPoint has picked its London leader for the presence it will retain after sending a key Lloyd’s unit to partner Mosaic, tapping an insider onboarded as a global growth driver as recently as October 2021.
Bobby Heerasing (pictured) becomes UK Country Branch Manager for SiriusPoint, including oversight of the Lloyd’s syndicate 1945, as the group sends its Lloyd’s MGA Sirius International Managing Agency (SIMA) to partner Mosaic in a previously announced but still-pending deal.
SIMA CEO Robert Harman will transition to Mosaic to continue his role as leader of the managing agency.
Heerasing will lead the drive for “establishing and executing profitable growth strategies” and managing the branch and syndicate for both insurance, reinsurance and services platforms.
Heerasing joined SiriusPoint in October 2021 with over 25 years of market experience. He was most recently Head of International Strategic Business Development for SiriusPoint and prior to this, was the CEO and Board member of ACR Holdings and ACR Group (Asia Capital Re). Previously, he spent 18 years at Catlin as Chief Underwriting Officer, and XL Catlin as Regional Underwriting Director of Asia Pacific (Insurance).

SiriusPoint announced a deal in March by which it will sell its Lloyd’s managing agency to Mosaic while agreeing to invest in the fellow Bermudian specialty insurer, including via a fronting arrangement.
Subject to Lloyd’s and regulatory approvals, SiriusPoint will sell Sirius International Managing Agency (SIMA) to Mosaic. Syndicate 1945 stays with SiriusPoint. SIMA will continue to provide services to Syndicate 1945 via a third-party syndicate management agreement.
