Skuld boosts syndicate team

Marine insurer Skuld has appointed David Munro in the new role of risk manager for Skuld’s Syndicate 1897 at Lloyd’s.

Munro will lead the risk assessment and loss prevention function for the syndicate, alongside support for the recently enhanced P&I function in Skuld’s London office.

He will be based in London and will report to Skuld 1897’s active underwriter Mike Bennett.

Previously he was senior manager at CEONA from 2012, after seven years at Subsea 7 in Aberdeen and Norway.

Douglas Jacobsohn, Skuld president and chief executive officer, said: “Skuld’s growth goes from strength to strength. In addition to diversification, we continue to invest in people to ensure we can deliver the service excellence with which Skuld is synonymous. As risk becomes more complex, it is essential that we have the capabilities to support our members and clients with the highest quality risk management and loss prevention expertise.”

Munro added: “This role is more testament to Skuld’s commitment to providing the best service available to our members and clients, and I look forward to working with the syndicate, and to supporting the P&I team, to reinforce Skuld’s reputation as one of the world’s leading providers of marine insurance.”
