Skuld reveals CEO succession plan

Scandinavian marine insurer Skuld has appointed Ståle Hansen as chief executive officer, with effect from February 1, 2015.

He succeeds Douglas Jacobsohn, who will retain a significant role within the business as an executive director on the board, supporting the definition, implementation and delivery of Skuld's agreed 2020 strategy.

Hansen has been with the company for more than 11 years and has been on the executive management team for six years serving as the company’s finance director.

Jacobsohn said: "I know that under Ståle's stewardship Skuld is in excellent hands and our ambitious plans for the future will be expertly managed. This is very positive news for Skuld and for our members, clients and other stakeholders, and I know that we will continue to go from strength to strength, with service at the core of everything we do."

The chairman of Skuld, Klaus Kjærulff, added: "Douglas has led Skuld for 14 years with great distinction and has been a significant force in taking Skuld to where it is today. We are indebted to him for his enormous contribution and that is why we have created a new role of executive director on the Board so that he will remain actively involved across Skuld."

Hansen said: "I am looking forward to the challenge of building on Skuld’s positive momentum. Skuld is a dynamic business, and we have a strong team of people who together offer great potential for the future."
