Sompo hires global insurance pricing and analytics leader from AXA XL

Bermuda-based property and casualty re/insurer Sompo International has hired AXA XL's Paul Shedden as head of portfolio design, pricing and analytics for global insurance.

Based in London, Shedden will also join Sompo's insurance executive leadership team, responsible for all the key analytical functions for the global insurance segment. He will report to Chris Gallagher, chief executive officer of Sompo International commercial P&C.

Most recently, Shedden served as the head of enterprise data insurance pricing, advanced analytics & innovation at re/insurer AXA XL. He has more than 25 years’ experience in this sector.

Gallagher said his "proven track record, history of success and extensive global experience aligns perfectly with Sompo International’s strategic direction".
