Swiss Re CS hires new chief claims officer from Chubb as George departs
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Marc Scheidegger as new chief claims officer, effective June 2020. He succeeds James George, who will step down in April to pursue other opportunities outside of Swiss Re.
Scheidegger most recently served as claims director for Continental Europe at Chubb. He has 24 years of insurance experience with broad international claims responsibilities.
Scheidegger will relocate from Paris to Zurich for his new role and report to Andreas Berger, CEO of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. He will also join the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Executive Committee.
Scheidegger will be tasked to lead an experienced team of claims professionals, responsible for ensuring claims handling and reserving processes are consistently met and maintaining open dialogue with underwriting, actuarial, finance and other functions. He will also focus on people to ensure Corporate Solutions is attracting and developing talent.
