Swiss Re unveils new UK CEO amid reshuffle; also swoops for CNA exec

Swiss Re has appointed a new country president and CEO UK & Ireland amid a wider reshuffle at the business.

Jason Richards (pictured) takes the reins of CEO while Julie Stephenson replaces him in the role of global head of casualty.

Richards has held a number of positions at the reinsurance giant since first joining 15 years ago and was made global head of casualty in November 2017.

He will start his new role in January 2022 and will set about driving profitable growth in the firm’s reinsurance portfolio in the region while continuing to strengthen their position in the London market.

Stephenson, the current senior vice president and chief operating officer at insurance firm CNA, will take over as global head of casualty and member of the reinsurance management team.

Moses Ojeisekhoba, Swiss Re CEO Reinsurance, said: “Jason will bring a wealth of experience and strong track record to lead the important UK & Ireland market, and with Julie we’ve found an accomplished leader with over 25 years of industry experience and profound knowledge in casualty underwriting.”
