Swiss Re veteran joins BMS to supercharge reinsurance growth
BMS Re, the specialty reinsurance arm of the global broking group BMS, has plucked a Swiss Re veteran of more than 18 years as it looks to accelerate its business expansion in the US and globally.
The company has hired Russell McGuire as head of origination. Sitting on the executive committee and based in New York, he will report to BMS Re CEO, Pete Chandler.
McGuire has nearly three decades of industry experience. He joins BMS Re following an 18+ year career at Swiss Re, where he rose to the position of managing director and client executive in Swiss Re’s global business practice, wherein his responsibilities included managing relationships with some of the company’s largest client partners and driving numerous talent management initiatives.
In his new role, McGuire will lead a team dedicated to identifying and establishing new client relationships, building on the recent growth of the reinsurance division, both in the US and globally.
Chandler said: “Russ is a fantastic addition to the BMS Re Team. His extensive and unique experiences will be a huge asset as we continue to expand our reinsurance division and deliver the highest standards of customised client solutions in the US and around the globe.”
