Syndicate 2525 hires new UK regional underwriter

Asta managed syndicate 2525 has appointed Rob Moores as head of the syndicate’s UK regional underwriting operation with effect from 1st January 2016.

Moores joins the syndicate from QBE where he spent 16 years in its casualty division, most recently heading up its North region UK casualty account.

Moores has also had previous roles at Guardian (now AXA) and Eagle Star (now Zurich) and has been a casualty specialist throughout his 30 year insurance career. His priority at the syndicate will be to continue growth in the North, strengthening existing relationships and introducing new brokers to Syndicate 2525 and its market leading product range.

Rob Turner, claims director for Syndicate 2525, said: “The active underwriter, David Dale, and I very much welcome Rob to the team. He is undoubtedly the right person to pick up where Steve Fitzgerald left off.

“The syndicate is committed to providing our exclusive products increasingly across the UK, not just within our home environment in Lloyd’s. Lloyd’s security should provide much reassurance in this difficult rating environment and Rob will seek quality brokers who don’t yet know us as well as strengthening relationships with those who do.

“It is important for us strategically to ensure our product line-up can be accessed locally across the UK.”

Moores added: “I am very pleased to join Syndicate 2525. They have always enjoyed an enviable reputation in the liability sector and I relish the challenge of enhancing their current footprint in the North.”
