Talbot appoints new active underwriter to take CUO's additional role

Talbot Underwriting, a subsidiary of Bermuda-based Validus Holdings, has promoted David Morris to the position of active underwriter.

Morris will report to chief underwriting officer (CUO) James Skinner, who previously held the additional role of active underwriter.

Morris began his career in the insurance industry 2002 at Talbot's London office, serving as both property and marine underwriter. Most recently, he served as head of overseas offices and head of international property at Talbot London.

Prior to this, he was the head of underwriting at Talbot Risk Services in Singapore, where he managed the company's Asia Pacific business across multiple lines and business functions. He also spent time in company's Dubai office as a senior underwriter, establishing business operations in the Middle East and North Africa.

"With over 15 years of expertise in the insurance sector, David has been instrumental in helping us strengthen our client offerings globally," said Peter Bilsby, chief executive officer of Talbot.

"We are thrilled to see him take on this new role within Talbot and look forward to seeing him continue his advancement as active underwriter."
