Tokio Marine Kiln lures Catlin syndicate CEO

Tokio Marine Kiln, the dual platform provider of specialist and corporate insurance, has appointed Nick Sinfield as its group head of claims.

Sinfield joins from Catlin, where he was chief executive officer (CEO) of Catlin Syndicate at Lloyd's (Catlin Underwriting Agencies) and Catlin Insurance Company (UK).

He will be responsible for leading the claims strategy at Tokio Marine Kiln and ensuring its service capabilities remain first class.

Charles Franks, group CEO, said: “We have taken enormous strides in developing our claims function, which is now recognised as one of the strongest in the London Market. Nick’s extensive experience will be invaluable as TMK builds on its customer proposition and I look forward to working with him to continue the great progress we have made in what is one of the most critical functions in the business. In a world where we are getting increasingly closer to our customer, we are well positioned to tackle these challenges.”

Sinfield said: “TMK has been founded on strong values of professionalism and quality and I’m thrilled to be joining the company at this exciting time. The leadership team share my belief that claims can play a really central role in attracting and retaining business and I am looking forward to building on the excellent progress that has already been made in its claims operation.”
