Top executive exits Swiss Re CS in Asia; triggers leadership reshuffle

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ top executive in China has left after serving for over 15 years, prompting a leadership reshuffle at the company.

Jingwei Jia (pictured), chief executive officer (CEO) Greater China of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, has exited the organisation last week.

Jia joined Swiss Re in 2006 as an underwriter based in London. Over his 15-year career with Swiss Re, he has taken on several senior roles before leading the establishment of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Insurance China in 2015. He was also appointed chief executive of Swiss Re International SE Hong Kong branch in 2019. During his tenure, he built up a team that achieved notable growth in Greater China, establishing close business relationships with brokers and broader stakeholders, and paved the way for business expansion in Greater China.

In the interim following Jia's departure, Jonathan Rake, CEO Asia Pacific for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, will assume oversight on Greater China with Christine Fang, the general manager of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Insurance China and Zoe Woon will be the interim chief executive for Swiss Re International SE Hong Kong branch.

Swiss Re expects to name a permanent replacement after receiving all regulatory approvals in the coming months.

Rake said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jingwei for his dedication and contributions, and I wish him all the best for the future. Greater China remains an important market for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and we remain steadfast in our commitment to work with our customers and partners to make the world more resilient.”
