Torus US appoints CEO

Torus US has appointed Norman Brown as chief executive officer (CEO), replacing interim CEO John Shettle.

Brown most recently served as executive vice president of Wright Insurance Group in New York, where he led the company’s sale to Brown & Brown.

He has also served at Guy Carpenter, Smith Barney and Securitas Capital and has worked with Torus US on a number of projects this year.

Shettle has been appointed as chief underwriting officer for Torus Group as well as group vice chairman.

He will be responsible for Torus group underwriting policy, pricing and analytics functions as well as ceded reinsurance activities.
