Twelve Capital lures Aspen ILS exec

Twelve Capital, the Zurich-based independent investment manager, has strengthened its insurance-linked securities (ILS) analytics by hiring an Aspen Re executive.

In July 2014, Dr. Jan Kleinn joined Twelve Capital’s ILS team as head of ILS analytics. He is tasked with building up a team of analysts covering natural and man-made catastrophes.

Kleinn was previously head of research & development at Aspen Re from 2008 to 2014. His responsibilities included the evaluation, adjustment and in-house development of catastrophe models as well as event reporting.

Prior to his assignment with Aspen Re he worked for PartnerRe’s research & development developing reinsurance risk assessment models for European storms and tropical cyclones.
