Tysers ramps up Asia and Australasia build out with Swiss Re, Aon hires

Lloyd's insurance broker Tysers has hired reinsurance specialists from Swiss Re and Aon to ramp up its Asia and Australasia marine and aviation team, which accounts for a third of the unit's business.

The new hires will join as associate directors within Tysers' reinsurance team, based in London.

Jane Smart comes from Swiss Re Asia to focus on innovative solutions and Cameron Nicholas will join the firm in January 2021 from Aon Re to develop its marine treaty business.

Smart has over 20 years’ experience in the reinsurance sector and has worked as a broker and reinsurer in multiple international territories. As a senior client manager for Swiss Re Asia in Singapore, Smart covered Southeast Asia, India and Dragons.

Tysers seeks to benefit from her market insight and specialist product knowledge to enhance its bespoke client solutions with a focus on alternative risk transfer, retrospective & prospective cover and parametric products.

Nicholas has experience in building treaty and facultative reinsurance business in developing and mature markets. Most recently head of production and marketing at Aon Re, he will strengthen Tysers’ ability to provide clients with optimal reinsurance solutions.
