UIB appoints non-marine & energy managing director

International re/insurance broker United Insurance Brokers has appointed Shaun Barrington as managing director of the non-marine & energy division.

Barrington joins from Willis Group where he held several positions in different areas of the company, including managing director of the North American property division, based in London. He had been at Willis since 2001; prior to this he spent ten years working at Sedgwick/Marsh.

Barrington will report to Philip Tuite-Dalton, chief executive officer at UIB. In his new role, he will focus on energy, property, casualty, financial institutions, terrorism and K&R.

“UIB has a solid international reputation,” said Barrington. “I look forward to working with the team here and to continue developing the business.”

Tuite-Dalton added: “Non-marine is an important and growing area of business for UIB. We are certain Shaun’s expertise and experience will help us continue to deliver the high levels of service and standards that all our clients expect from UIB.”
