UK insurtech By Miles rolls out new offering for connected car drivers
UK-based insurtech startup By Miles, which provides pay-per-mile car insurance, has unveiled a new offering enabling motorists to compare its ‘connected car insurance' policies alongside standard insurance policies.
By Miles has teamed up with price comparison site Quotezone to roll out this offering.
By Miles said that the new offering could save Tesla owners, and shortly other connected car drivers, a significant amount on their car insurance. All Tesla cars already come with connected car technology fitted as standard and often attract very high insurance premiums.
Launched in December 2019, By Miles' connected car policies are telematics policies that use a vehicle's in-built Internet connectivity to track driving data instead of relying on a regular black box device.
