Vesttoo poaches Howden Tiger broker to head up US insurance

Artificial intelligence-powered alternative risk transfer insurtech  Vesttoo has swooped for a  Howden Tiger partner to build out its US operations.

William Cheney (pictured) has moved to Vesttoo to take up the key role of head of insurance US.

Cheney has served as partner at Howden Tiger for a little over a year, based in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to that, he was a senior broker at Lockton Re, and previously spent 11 years at Willis Re, where he ran its Boston office and the large account property segment for Willis Re North America. He also helped establish the Seattle office of Willis Re.

Cheney specialised in Florida based cedants during his time at Guy Carpenter, where he served as vice president for more than seven years before joining Willis Re.
