Victor Insurance taps Everest VP to lead US reinsurance business

Global managing general underwriter (MGU)  Victor Insurance Holdings has tapped a 40-year reinsurance executive to lead its US operations, succeeding John Pfautz, who is retiring from the industry.

In his new role, John Tarpey will be responsible for the regional treaty services corporation (RTSC) business that Victor acquired earlier this year, which will be renamed Victor Reinsurance Managers.

Victor Reinsurance Managers underwrites three reinsurance facilities for small to midsize US-based insurers primarily writing personal lines, small agriculture, and main street commercial business.

Tarpey joins Victor from Everest Reinsurance Company where he most recently served as vice president, treaty casualty / multiple lines. He has nearly 40 years of reinsurance experience. Tarpey will be based in Morristown, New Jersey, and report to Brian Hanuschak (pictured), CEO of Victor.
