Willis taps Aon talent for important market amid ‘transformational’ period

Broker  Willis Towers Watson has hired a senior executive from Aon to lead its growth strategy in one of the company’s “largest and most successful markets” in the US.

John Caldwell (pictured) will join Willis Towers Watson as risk and broking Leader for the Carolinas, replacing Eric Hein, who announced his retirement earlier in the year.

Caldwell was previously resident sales leader for Aon’s NY Metro market, where he was responsible for sales strategy and growth in their flagship office and also worked at Gallagher as a national sales leader after his move to Charlotte. He has over 20 years in the industry with broad experience across risk and broking as well as the benefits sector.

Doug Pera, managing director, head of corporate risk & broking for the Southeast Region, said: “We are delighted to have John join as our leader for the Carolinas business. He brings a depth and breadth of experience that will ensure a smooth transition of leadership in this important market.”

Caldwell commented: “I am thrilled to be joining Willis Towers Watson at a transformational time in the company’s journey, leading one of our largest and most successful markets. I have long held Willis Towers Watson in extremely high regard and look forward to leveraging our industry leading assets to capture the growth opportunity.”
