Willis Towers Watson appoints head of broking Great Britain

Broker Willis Towers Watson has appointed Clyde Bernstein as the head of broking, Great Britain, for its corporate risk and broking division.

In his new role, Bernstein will report jointly to global head of broking Philip Smaje, and head of corporate risk and broking, Great Britain, Alastair Swift. He will be responsible for developing and implementing Willis Towers Watson’s broking strategy across the region.

Bernstein has been at Willis Towers Watson since 1990 and was previously the director of broking, fine art, jewellery and specie.

Smaje said: "Today’s announcement reinforces our commitment to deliver the best client solutions through broking excellence for clients. Clyde will be responsible for leading GB’s broker community, building out its strategy including development of facilities and panels, as well as the enhanced use of data, analytics and technology. This enables us to build sustainable facilities irrespective of product class or the market cycle."

"We are delighted to continue to invest in our internal talent," Swift added. "Clyde’s broking and business experience will strengthen Willis Towers Watson’s stakeholder relationships and ensure we provide specialist broking expertise to deliver excellence for our clients."
