WTW lands Sompo leader, 30-year Chubb veteran in North America
Global broker WTW (Willis Towers Watson) has tapped Sompo’s real estate and hospitality industry leader, a 30-year Chubb veteran, for its Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) business in North America.
James Martuscelli has been appointed as WTW’s head of real estate & hospitality where he will oversee client retention and growth strategies across the industry practice.
Martuscelli joins WTW from Sompo International where he served as the chief industry vertical officer – real estate and hospitality since 2016, after spending more than 30 years with Chubb, where he served as the real estate casualty practice leader.
In his new role, Martuscelli will focus on the development of commercial insurance programmes for complex real estate organisations across the globe and develop new and creative solutions to support clients. He will also provide expert advice in the areas of advocacy, risk and insurance programme design, and benchmarking of programme data and statistics. Martuscelli will work closely with insurer executives to elevate the profile of the practice and expand leverage throughout the market.
Martuscelli will report to Tom Coughlin, head of industry & specialty for CRB North America, who said: “James is a proven industry leader bringing more than 30 years of experience, knowledge and resources in serving the complex risk management needs of global real estate and hospitality clients. His industry expertise and strong relationships will benefit our colleagues, clients, and prospects.”
