WTW looks to MS Amlin for top climate analytics role

Global insurance broker  WTW (Willis Towers Watson) has hired a senior MS Amlin executive to strengthen its climate analytics and exposure management capabilities.

David Singh (pictured) joined WTW earlier this month as director, head of climate analytics and exposure management. Based in London, he will help insurers understand and manage exposure and financial risks from climate change.

Singh currently sits on the board of the International Society of Catastrophe Managers (ISCM).

He has held various exposure management roles at MS Amlin over the course of nine years, most recently as exposure management delivery manager. In this role, he was responsible for project managing and delivery of exposure, portfolio, underwriting performance and technical pricing frameworks within MS Amlin to capture, model and price natural and man-made catastrophe exposures.

Prior to MS Amlin, Singh worked for over three years at the Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) as chair of its climate risk and exposure management working groups. From 2009 to 2012, he served as an exposure management & reinsurance executive at Lloyd's of London, having joined the corporation from HSBC where he held the role of catastrophe risk modelling.
