WTW poaches Aon talent for key role in Asia corporate risk & broking

Global broker  WTW (Willis Towers Watson) has made two leadership appointments to its natural resources and construction lines of business within the Asia Corporate Risk & Broking business, effective January 2023.

Nicki Tilney (pictured, left) will join  WTW as head of construction, power & renewables in Asia – a newly created role. She will have responsibility for leading the construction, power and renewable strategies across Asia to deliver seamless service to clients throughout the life of their projects.

Tilney joins from Aon where she is the head of construction, power & infrastructure in Asia.

George Nassaouati (pictured, right), who currently heads  WTW's natural resources in Asia, will be appointed as head of energy Asia. He will lead the development and management of the upstream and downstream energy portfolio. With these changes, both Tilney and Nassaouati will co-head the natural resources business in Asia.

Luke Ware, head of Corporate Risk & Broking Asia, at  WTW said: “Attracting talent such as Nicki to  WTW reinforces our drive to be the best specialty broker. Nicki will enhance the depth of expertise within our Global Line of Business for both Construction and Natural Resources. Both these industry sectors face risks associated with supply chain vulnerabilities, rapid advances in technologies, as well as ESG and climate complexities that create a unique set of challenges.

“The alignment of the Construction and Natural Resources Global Line of Business within  WTW Asia enables us to bring a more effective and integrated offering to our clients. Our specialist partners will deliver bespoke and innovative risk solutions through our deep industry insights which will address companies’ specific risk issues, both now and in the future towards achieving net zero emission targets.”

Pamela Thomson-Hall, head of international at  WTW, added: “We are delighted to welcome Nicki to the  WTW team. She is a respected industry professional whose experience and skillset complements our existing talent pool across the construction, power and renewable energy sectors.

“Attracting experienced and market-leading talent such as Nicki underpins our growth objective and enhances our deep industry insights in the Asia region. Importantly, both Nicki and George’s appointments demonstrate our commitment to diversity and in bringing the best talent to support our Corporate Risk & Broking businesses globally.”
