Xchanging launches cargo services

Xchanging, the business process, procurement and technology services provider, has launched a global cargo service.

The offering, formerly known as settlement of claims abroad (SCA), will offer what the company describes as a refreshed approach to the servicing of cargo claims insured within the London market.

Building on the SCA Scheme, global cargo services will leverage the company’s Lloyd’s agency network to support the claims settlement services managed in London.

The service provides for the initial notification of loss, review of claims and appointment of experts as required, through to agreement of claims and final payment of the claims in any currency around the world.

It will be powered by Xuber Claims. This follows the announcement in October 2013 that Xchanging will use Xuber as its claims platform of choice.

Paul Bermingham, executive claims director, said: “This service delivers the end-to-end process, freeing up brokers from non-contentious and non-complex claims, and instead allowing them to focus their time and resource on more complex claims handling requirements. Global cargo services provides transparency through regular reporting of activity on claims being handled for their clients.”
