Xchanging launches next-gen business

Technology provider Xchanging has launched the next generation of its procurement business, combining outsourcing with advisory services and innovative technology.

Xchanging said that highlights include a brand new, industry first procurement-as-a-service offering, which combines people, technology and expertise as a managed service and a range of enhanced products and services, powered by MM4, the company’s insight-driven eSourcing platform.

JaneAnn Gifford, global supply chain director at Closure Systems International, said: “From the outset of our partnership with MM4 in late 2011, we’ve realised tremendous efficiencies via its next-generation eSourcing software. In addition, the flexibility of the Procurement-as-a-Service solution allows us to drive accelerated cost reduction projects on an on-demand basis, and has delivered incremental and significant productivity benefits to CSI.

“The combination of technology and outstanding procurement and supply chain personnel truly differentiates MM4 as a valued services provider. The acquisition of MM4 by Xchanging not only increased our access to qualified support, but has also resulted in an unexpected up-lift in the team’s already exceptional commitment to CSI.”

Industry analyst Everest Group said: “An increasingly dynamic business environment requires organisations to have an agile and scalable model to quickly respond to changing needs. The ‘As-a-Service’ model presents such an opportunity by offering key components of procurement services – technology, people, and expertise – in an on-demand and flexible way. We expect this model to gain further traction in the future.”
