XL launches security insight platform
XL Group’s kidnap and ransom underwriting team has launched a global security insight platform, providing clients with information on security risks in over 200 territories.
The platform was created and is frequently updated by Salamanca Group, the Merchant Banking and Operational Risk management business. Access is included as part of XL’s pre-incident response service.
XL said that the platform experience has been made as intuitive as possible with the aid of a heat map. Each country is ranked by a colour-code which signifies its level of risk, from green, which is insignificant, to red, which is extreme. The map can also be broken down by type of threat.
A second map detailing war, terrorism and political violence risks is also included, designed to assess threats that might be brought about by current political circumstances.
