Zurich lures ex-Liberty/Aon for US casualty leadership role

Zurich Insurance Group has tapped a former Liberty and Aon executive to lead its casualty business in the US.

David Morgan (pictured) has joined  Zurich North America as head of domestic casualty in US national accounts, where he will lead strategy, business development and a team focused on delivering tailored, simplified casualty insurance solutions for distributors and customers. Morgan will be based in Atlanta and report to Brian Winters, head of large casualty for US national accounts.

Morgan joins  Zurich from Liberty Mutual, where he worked for nearly four years as vice president and southeast division underwriting manager for major accounts. Prior to that, he was at Aon for five years, most recently as regional managing director in the national casualty practice for Aon Risk Solutions. Earlier in his career, he held account manager and account executive positions in Liberty Mutual’s commercial market business.

Morgan commented: “I’m excited to join a great, strong team that Brian has pulled together at  Zurich. Together we’ll work to help our clients smooth out volatility from their business so they can focus on their business priorities. We’re well positioned to support our clients in navigating challenges and moving beyond the pandemic.”

Winters said: “Bringing David’s leadership skills and casualty experience to the mix will only strengthen our ability to deliver what our customers and brokers value.”
