Reinsurers’ rising profit goals despite 1/1 softening suggests rate adequacy

A discrepancy between the heightened profit targets of some of Europe’s biggest reinsurers and the reported direction of treaty renewal rates point to strong carrier satisfaction with rate adequacy and margin outlook, analysts at a London equity brokerage have said.
