RenaissanceRe happy to ride the float through casualty downturn

Bermuda-based global reinsurance group RenaissanceRe is prepared to allow its casualty segment to suffer mild underwriting losses for some time, while investment earnings and fee income can cover the gap, as is sifts through the cedant world and puts the best underlying primary market improvements into its reinsurance book, top officials from the group have said.
