RSA Insurance has expanded its underwriting capabilities in its UK specialty lines business with new hires from Allianz and Liberty Specialty Markets.
John Lawrence (pictured left) joins as senior specialist underwriter – property, and Henry Henderson (pictured right) as specialist underwriter - power, engineering & renewable energy. They will be based in London.
UK Specialty Lines is part of Intact’s Global Specialty Lines, which offers integrated global propositions for brokers and customers with more complex international risks.
Lawrence is an experienced property underwriter, having worked at various insurers throughout his career, including AXA, AIG and a previous stint at RSA. He re-joins RSA from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), where he has been working since 2018 as a property underwriter.

Henderson joins RSA to enhance the insurer’s power and renewable energy offering. He has previously worked at Brit and HDI Global Specialty, before joining Liberty Specialty Markets, where he worked in the insurer’s power and renewable energy team since January 2022.
Steve Watson, managing director - UK specialty at RSA Insurance, said: “We’re further expanding our underwriting capabilities as we relentlessly pursue our ambition to outperform in the marketplace. John and Henry bring a wealth of expertise and experience to RSA and their valuable addition to our team will not only enhance our service offering to our broking partners, but they will also augment the culture of deep expertise that we have within our Specialty Lines Business. I’m delighted to welcome them both to the team.”
