Southwestern France battered as Storm Nils could cost insurers €3bn

Storm Nils, along with other low-pressure systems including Oriana, has battered France, Spain and Italy, with insured losses from Nils alone expected to top €3 billion and broader storm damage across Western and Southern Europe potentially adding hundreds of millions more.
