Swiss Re Capital Markets voted Best ILS Advisor by the readers of Intelligent Insurer

Swiss Re Capital Markets claimed the title of Best ILS Advisor at Intelligent Insurer’s Global Awards event held in Monte Carlo on September 8, 2013.

Intelligent Insurer’s in-house research team spent six months interviewing industry executives and gathering data from thousands of online responses. In total 1,103 full interviews or surveys were completed. The research team collected qualitative and quantitative data to establish which companies are regarded highly and what qualities have been critical to their long-term success.

Since the ILS market’s inception, Swiss Re Capital Markets’ structuring team has offered a host of solutions to clients. It serves a variety of players such as insurers and reinsurers, investors, governments and corporations with expertise in both the property and casualty and life and health risk markets.

“They know what they’re doing and provide a competent and experienced service,” said one respondent when speaking of Swiss Re Capital Markets.

Another added: “Their ability to transform the risk from traditional into the capital market is exceptional.”

Other comments focused on the company’s experience, with one person stating: “They are very good at ILS deals and have been doing capital market deals for a very long time.”

The company was also praised for its global reach. “They’ve got the broadest exposure across the world in the ILS space,” said one person. “They also know everything around the world about legislation.”

Another commented: “They are very innovative and provide creative solutions which are tailor-made, and this is shown by their huge success rate.”

One ex-employee of the company celebrated its success. “I worked at Swiss Re for five years and know them very well—they are super competent,” they said.
