Tokio Marine creates global media division, aiming for market leadership
Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI), a part of specialty insurance group Tokio Marine HCC, has launched a new global media division to underwrite risks in the media, film, television and events sector. It will be led by an executive with senior experience at Beazley, Hiscox, and Markel.
The new global unit incorporates the firms’ specialist media property and liability underwriting team, enabling it to further develop its UK and overseas portfolio.
Tokio Marine has promoted Ros Breese to lead the division as underwriting director – media, film & TV. She will report directly to Tony Browne, managing director - professional risks.
Breese joined TMHCC in 2018 and was responsible for underwriting and managing the media, film & TV professional indemnity portfolio in the UK. She has over 25 years’ experience in the industry and has held senior roles at Beazley, Hiscox and Markel.
Browne said: “I am thrilled to announce Ros’ promotion, her expertise and passion for the sector has enabled us to grow our book significantly over the past six years. This change will allow our Media proposition to thrive internationally and establish ourselves as market leaders for this segment.”
“The Media industry faces unique challenges and requires expert underwriting knowledge and there is no doubt that Ros is the perfect candidate to lead this team as it continues to grow and cement our position in the market.”
