Travelers accelerated in commercial Q2 on mid-market play, margin up

US P&C carrier Travelers grew by an adjusted 5% in its core business insurance segment and gave thanks to its middle-market and small-cap focus, then tightened margins notably on a combination of lower cat losses and a boost to prior period reserve releases.
