US auto insurance policy costs rise in April; parts still steady

US average retail automotive policy costs rose 0.6% in April from March, the largest monthly upwards move in costs in eight months, but not enough to reverse prior month declines, stem the slide in the headline annual inflation rate, or testify to major pre-emptive tariff moves among carriers.
