US insurance jobs rout nears 72,000 as losses deepen
The US insurance industry may have shed yet another 6,700 jobs in July after deeper than initial reported losses in June, bringing the tally through nine months of continuous job losses to nearly 72,000 posts, the latest data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has indicated. First quarter and Q2 2026 are the first and second worst quarters on record.
