US P&C carriers swing to Q1 underwriting loss on LA wildfires: AM Best

LA wildfires knocked the US P&C industry to a first-quarter underwriting loss, mitigated only by a rise in reserve releases, a first-look study of regulatory filings by ratings agency AM Best has suggested.
