Global insured nat cat losses jump to $62bn in H1, Munich Re says

Global losses from natural catastrophes in the first half of 2024 surpassed figures seen in the last decade as well as in the past 30 years, driven mainly by severe storms and flooding, according to Munich Re’s half-year reading.
