Allstate cat losses hit $216m for June

The Allstate Corporation has estimated catastrophe losses for the month of June 2014 of $216 million pre-tax or $140 million after-tax.

The total for the second quarter now stands at $936 million pre-tax or $608 million after-tax.

The losses occurring in June came from 12 events.

Allstate previously announced $720 million pre-tax or $468 million after-tax, in estimated catastrophe losses for the months of April and May 2014.

“Non-catastrophe frequency and severity losses for second quarter 2014 were below first quarter 2014 which was impacted by severe winter weather losses,” said Allstate.
