Aon taps Willis Re Netherlands leader to expand in Dutch market

Global re/insurance broker  Aon has tapped the executive director and head of the Dutch office of rival Willis Re.

Maarten Ackermans (pictured) joined Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions on March 1 as a senior broker. Based in Amsterdam, he is responsible for further expanding the broker’s Dutch customer portfolio.

Ackermans previously spent 12 years at Willis Re, including four in London. Most recently, he was executive director and head of the Dutch office, where he was responsible for a number of Willis Re’s Dutch clients, as well as being involved with some of its largest international reinsurance clients.
