ArgoGlobal appoints international chief actuary from Aspen

Lloyd’s insurer ArgoGlobal, a part of Argo Group, has appointed Paul Lucas as chief actuary, international.

Lucas joins the company from Aspen, where he served as global insurance chief actuary. He joined Aspen in 2007 as a casualty reinsurance pricing actuary, eventually becoming the global insurance chief actuary in 2016. He began his career as a pricing actuary at Converium (now SCOR) in 2001.

Lucas will report to Bob Katzman, chief actuary of Argo Group.

“We are pleased to welcome Paul to the team. He has a long track record of leading global teams to identify growth opportunities and improve underwriting performance,” said Katzman. “In addition, his analytical capabilities in pricing and reserving, as well as his knowledge of key markets like Lloyd’s, will help ArgoGlobal execute its strategic plans successfully.”
