Aventum appoints first CTO to ‘set new standards’ for digital transformation
Global speciality re/insurance broking business Aventum Group has appointed its first chief technology officer (CTO), with the ambition to “set a new standard for digital transformation” with speed and scale.
Hasani Jess (pictured) is named as the group’s first CTO. He joins Aventum from Simply Business where he was CTO for the last five years.
Jess has 25 years’ experience as a technologist across a wide range of industries. His background includes roles at major blue chip enterprises including TUI, Harrods, Deutsche Bank, UBS, IBM and Visa.
Aventum said his vision for the business is to adopt a technology-first approach that differentiates the broker, underwriter, and client experience, and drive a “truly impactful transformation with both speed and scale”. Jess aims to build a 70 strong team and deliver a flagship insurance platform, including broker and underwriter workbenches, within the next two years, enabling Aventum to develop new capabilities and take data-driven decisions in today’s changing insurance landscape.
David Bearman, CEO of Aventum, said: “Hasani is a visionary, and an inspiring technologist. I am confident he will lead Aventum to not only transmit our vision but truly set us apart as a disruptor in the industry. Hasani’s appointment marks a coup for our group as we embark on the next stage of our evolution. He will effect change, and will do it quickly - so watch this space.”
Hasani commented: “Aventum has a palpable ambition to do things differently. I was attracted by its people, its winning culture, and its belief that anything is possible. My expertise is leveraging technology to take businesses to the next level, and that is exactly what I plan to do at Aventum. We have a great foundation and an entrepreneurial culture that’s focussed on delivering value for its clients and its people. We are already moving at pace to do things even better and I look forward to seeing our vision come to fruition in the months ahead.”
