AXA XL reveals senior promotions in Bermuda/Dublin

Re/insurer AXA XL has revealed two senior promotions within its excess casualty insurance business in Bermuda and Dublin.

Vivienne Moniz has been appointed head of excess casualty, Bermuda, and Elaine Scully as head of excess casualty, Dublin. Both the executives will be responsible for driving strategic growth and operational objectives within their regions.

Moniz will report to XL Bermuda chief executive officer, insurance Patrick Tannock. Moniz has held progressively senior roles within the company including most recently head of healthcare, Bermuda.

Scully will report to AXA XL insurance president, global excess casualty Donnacha Smyth. Prior to her new role Scully was senior underwriter, vice president on the excess casualty team in Dublin.

"The fact that Elaine and Vivienne are willing and able to step into these leadership positions underscores AXA XL's bench strength," Smyth commented. "Both are highly respected within the organisation and their respective markets for their technical expertise, market knowledge and professional, collaborative and conscientious approach to business. I look forward to working more closely with them in their new roles."

Tannock added: "Given the exponential rate of change, the ever evolving complexity of risk and the constant challenges facing the insurance industry, it is imperative that every opportunity is made to identify, attract and retain the best talent. That's why we're proud and fortunate to have individuals of Vivienne and Elaine's calibre taking on increasing leadership roles. Considering their track record of success, we are confident that they will continue to lead by example in demonstrating the value of being user friendly, solution-oriented and friction free."
