AXIS Capital mines Beazley for new top analytics leader

Global re/insurer  AXIS Capital Holdings mined a 16-year veteran of Beazley to step in as its chief data and analytics officer to muscle up the means by which data backs better underwriting.

Rebecca O’Kill has been climbing the ladder at Beazley for her full career,starting as a pricing analyst in 2007 before rising through actuarial posts over ten years to become head of actuarial analytics in 2020 and interim chief data officer since January 2022.

At AXIS and effective immediately, O’Kill will oversee the company’s analytics operating model, and then work with teams to deliver business intelligence and insights to support underwriting.

AXIS chief underwriting officer Dan Draper said: “Rebecca is a proven global leader in data and analytics who brings a deep understanding of driving value in specialty insurance, informed by her actuarial expertise and background. Herleadership and perspective will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our usage of data and analytics to empower our team and further strengthen the speed and service that we provide to our brokers and customers.”
