Chubb pushes insiders up the Asian ladder, including new region head

Chubb pushed two Asia-region leaders up a chain of vacancies, picking a seasoned Chubb Asia executive for Far East regional president and country president for Japan then selecting a replacement for him as country president for its general insurance operations in Korea.

Edward Kopp, now in his eleventh year with Chubb, steps in as regional president, Far East, and country president for Japan to replace Diego Sosa, recently sent to lead Chubb in Mexico.

During his Chubb tenure, Kopp has served as country president for Korea, head of accident and health for Asia Pacific as well as deputy country president and chief operating officer for Chubb in Korea and country president for Chubb in Thailand. Prior to Chubb, Kopp had held positions with HSBC and Cigna in Asia. He began his career at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in the US.

To fill Kopp's shoes, Janice (Jae-Kyung) Mo has been appointed country president of the general insurance business in Korea. Currently, Mo serves as senior vice president for property and casualty, claims, and corporate strategy. Mo joined Chubb in 2014 as head of property and casualty and agency distribution management. She previously did ten years at AIG, including as head of commercial insurance for Korea, plus a decade at Deutsche Bank.
