CPP launches first-of-its-kind parametric lost luggage product

Insurer  CPP Group and travel insurance provider Just Travel Cover have developed an insurtech product which will make it easier for airline passengers to recover lost luggage.

The ‘Smart Luggage’ system will use parametric technology to enable real-time support and automation of the claims process from the moment a traveller registers their checked luggage as missing. Customers can upload an image of their delayed luggage receipt, and the platform will immediately begin searching for their missing checked luggage.

The platform will be delivered by Blink Parametric, which is part of the CPP Group, a multinational provider of personal protection and insurance products which specialises in the financial services and insurance markets.

CPP CEO Jason Walsh (pictured) said: "With international travel markets beginning to open up and demand for insurance products powered by this kind of technology growing across the territories we serve, the opportunity ahead of us is an exciting one."
