Everest reveals new E&S excess casualty national leader

Everest Insurance, the specialty insurance division of Bermuda-based Everest Re Group, has appointed a new head of E&S excess casualty to lead the team of underwriters in five US cities - Atlanta, Chicago, Stamford, Los Angeles, and New York.

Edward Wu has been promoted to the role of vice president, E&S excess casualty national leader. He will be responsible for developing and driving strategy and underwriting discipline, and leading production for the E&S excess casualty team nationally.

Based in Los Angeles, Wu will lead the team of Everest E&S excess casualty underwriters in five US cities.

Wu joined Everest earlier this year as vice president, West Coast regional manager for E&S excess casualty, where he was primarily responsible for the development and growth of the E&S excess casualty business in the West Region.

Prior to joining Everest, Wu worked as a vice president and casualty manager for the Western region at Sompo International. Previously, he held the role of assistant vice president at Arch Insurance Group. Wu has more than 24 years of commercial casualty experience with a focus on excess and surplus lines.

Connie Germano, senior vice president and head of specialty casualty at Everest Insurance, said: “In a short time at Everest, Ed’s leadership skills and strong broker relationships have positioned him as a key asset to our wholesale business. I am confident that this expanded role will allow Ed the opportunity to build and strengthen those relationships while driving continued success within the E&S Excess Casualty segment across all regions.”
